Winston and Bentley (Knoxville Pet artist/photographer)

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Winston and Bentley. They are the fur children of Janet Eichholz and Andrew Myers. I have photographed both boys when they were first adopted by Janet and Andrew. Now they are big boys and it was time for some big boy images!

Winston and Bentley are two of the friendliest pups I've ever photographed. They love playing together and wrestling, just like most brothers. They also love for dad to throw the ball for them to chase and will watch intently while Andrew retrieves the ball if it goes over the fence.

Janet and Andrew also honored me with the opportunity to create a digital painting of Winston and Bentley to hang in their living room. I love creating digital paintings for my clients. I feel it gives them a unique piece of art that can become an heirloom.

Here are a few of my favorites from Winston and Bentley's session.

2017 Awards from Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (Knoxville artist)

I had a wonderful time seeing old and new friends and learning new things at the Tennessee Professional Photographers convention held in Knoxville, TN last month.

At our banquet, I received "Best In Show" Master Artist category, 1st place "Digital Creation" category, distinguished ribbons in digital creation and pet/animal portraits, my Tennessee Service Degree, a merit bar for 25 print merits, and was honored to be named one of the Top Ten Photographers in the TNPPA again. Thank you to everyone that has helped me achieve these goals!

Shhhh.....this is a secret for grandma! Childrens painted portrait

I was recently commisioned by a very proud grandpa to paint a portrait of his two grandsons. The painting is a gift to his wife for their anniversary. I was able to take a very low resolution cell phone image and turn it into this painting of two very handsome young men. My client says he bets his wife will cry when she sees it. As long as they are happy tears, that's ok! I'm sure sweet surprises like this are why they are celebrating over 20 years of marriage! It makes me so happy to be able to help with surprises like this, no matter what the occassion!

Rimma - painted pet portrait

My latest painted portrait is of Rimma. She's a beautiful chocolate lab that loves to be with her humans, especially when they are outside. They have watched her grow from a four pound puppy to a 64 pound  bundle of love. She's almost the same color as her favorite sofa, so it's easy for her to nap inconspicuously. I think she may be a bit spoiled, but after all, she is just a furry four legged baby!

Holt family session | Nashville family photography

Both boys recently had birthdays so mom thought it was time for a new family portrait. The boys were a delight as usual even though baby Lennon was on the move the whole time. He's crawling like a champ and thinking about walking soon. Big brother Denney was so cute trying to hold on to Lennon so he'd stay still!

Farless Maternity session | Nashville maternity photography

Baby Hayden will be here soon! I had the pleasure of photographing mom and dad, Jessica and Jeremy. Jessica is absolutely glowing even though little Hayden is expected in a month or less. You can tell by the look on their faces that Jessica and Jeremy are going to be wonderful parents. Can't wait for Hayden to make his arrival and do his newborn portraits!

Rachel and Ryan are married! - Nashville photographer

On May 21st, I had the pleasure of attending Ryan and Rachel's wedding. Ryan's mom is one of my best friends. I've know Ryan since Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles were the most important things in his life. Now he's all grown up and has a sweet, beautiful wife! I was not the hired photographer -  and I promised I stayed out of the way! I was just another guest with a camera this time. :)

Curious Cows

On a recent trip to my Mom and Dad's, I decided to take some photos of the many beautiful flowers my Mom has in the yard. While I was taking the photos I looked up to find I had an audience. These cows all seemed quite curious about what I was doing. They are Amish cows, owned by my parent's Amish neighbors, so I guess they had never seen a camera before. ;)  They stood staring at me until I got a little closer than they felt comfortable, then they started backing up, all the while still staring.

Lennon Holt 6 months session | Nashville children's photography

Lennon is six month's old! It seems like it was only a few days ago that I shot his newborn photos. He's growing up so fast! Of course he'll always have big brothe Denney to look after him.

Not-a-Workshop, Nashville - Knoxville Portrait photography

This past Saturday I was honored to be able to hang out with and learn from some other great photographers at the "Not-a-Workshop" hosted by

Joshua Gull

. Josh's idea was to get a bunch of photographers of all skill levels together and demonstrate techniques and how-to's. We had a great morning shooting and spent the afternoon talking workflows and business. Other speakers included

Rich Lavigne

, wedding and portrait photographer from New Jersey,

Annabelle Dando

, wedding photographer from the Baltimore/Annapolis/Washington, D.C. area, and Nashville's own wedding photographer

Kristen Steele

. We all had a great time, learned a lot, AND got to witness

Andy Stacy

propose to

Kayle Erin Brooks

. :) Here are a few of the photos of Andy and Kayla I took.

Dana's maternity photos

About two weeks ago I had the honor of shooting a maternity session for one of my best friend's daughter. I remember when Dana's feet didn't hang over the end of a chair and it seemed she always had Cheeto dust on her mouth and fingers - Cheetos are still one of her favorite things. Now she has a "little Cheeto" of her own - baby Gauge was born yesterday evening. He decided to come a week early. Hopefully I'll have some newborn shots of him to share in the next couple of weeks. :)
